The Surveyors

Olympic Construction have fully trained and experienced surveyors who have a range of solutions at their disposal to solve your property care issues. The level of competence and performance of surveyors is important.

All our surveyors are trained to the highest industry standards and hold the recognised qualifications of:

CSRT- Certified Surveyor in Remedial Treatment & C.S.S.W. – Certified surveyors of structural waterproofing.
TIWSc – Technician Awarded is awarded, to a person who: has obtained approved qualifications in timber technology at S/NVQ Level 2 with the Institute of Wood Science.

These are nationally recognised professional qualifications for remedial surveyors, so you can be assured that your problem will be diagnosed correctly and the correct solutions identified for your property.

A survey undertaken correctly will save you money in the long run. Remember incorrect surveys and diagnosis cost more money.



 

The Survey

Our surveyor will have at his disposal all the necessary equipment to carry out a full inspection of the area giving concern and diagnose the correct solution for the problem.

The survey will generally be of a non-destructive type, however, if need be, permission may be sought to remove plaster samples or floorboards to further aid the survey. It is recommended that the areas, which are the subject of concern, are made readily accessible and that, carpets and furniture are removed prior to the surveyor’s visit to the property.

Should the surveyor discover the problem to be extensive the surveyor may decide to halt the inspection and advise that further assistance may be necessary to fully expose the problem areas. In this instance the surveyor will supply the quotation to carry out the necessary exposure works.

Whatever the case the surveyor will endeavour to keep you informed at all stages of his inspection.

He will discuss with you the logistics in carrying out whatever works that maybe required.

The Report

Your report will arrive promptly following the survey having been completed. Within the detailed report you will find an estimate for any work that is to be carried out along with a Specification of work and a plan where required.

Testing Facilities

Olympic construction can if required undertake samples for the testing of ground salt analyses, these are the salts found in walls affected by rising dampness. Positive readings on a conductance meter are not always due to rising dampness. We are also able to undertake destructive sampling, acting as independent surveyors in disputes with defective works, or simply to establish the correct diagnosis, for the defects located.
